I have finally managed to swindle my very own place to live for the first time in my life...and didn't take too much swindling either. I moved in Feb 10th...so have been there pret-near a month now.

The cost of living in Tassie is soo much lower that i'm renting a 'granny flat' cheaper than what i was renting a bedroom in a shared house in Brisbane. It's a one bedroom flat in the backyard of a bungalow, completely separate though and definitely enough space for one...it has a lounge, bedroom, wee kitchen and loo...don't feel cramped at all. I share the backyard with the house and it has a fabulous view of the city as i'm situated atop a hill. It's all very exciting to have my very own space, to have it how i want, and to be how i want.

It didnt' come furnish so that was the catch but i was very fortunate with donations from various avenues....a bed from lucy, a fridge from work, and all the other main bits and bites from andy's uncle. The only major thing i had to buy was a couch and chair, which i got at a bargain price of $90 all inclusive, used obviously but suits me just fine.

My plan was to purchase a bicycle for my mode of transportation but somehow that escalated. I am now the (somewhat) proud owner of a classic automobile, an 1989 Holden (GM) Commodore wagon..haha. It cracks me up. It is soo hilly here so that is my excuse..i considered a scooter but it was the same price and you need a special license so a car seemed most logically, not necessarily a wagon but it was the cheapest. This way i can get around Tassie at my own leisure....it's lovely how things fall into place.
