Victoria is the wine hot spot of Australia, with the most number of wineries (over 500 apparently). Emma, myself and her boyfriend ventured to Yarra Valley specfically for the day, in itself, known very well for its cool-climate wine such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot.

All the wineries in this region offer free tastings and maybe that is standard with vineyards worldwide but i was unaware of this fact until then..and we certainly took advantage of it (why had i never been to a vineyard before for free tasting? It was a gorgeous day with the sun a shining and actually quite warm..after all the cooler weather. Emma's boyfriend was nice enough to drive us around, it's a 1 1/2 hr drive aboot east of Melbourne..the scenery is beautiful with rolling hills. We went to 4 vineyards i do believe...all with varying lovely wines. I myself am not a wine connoisseur but i do enjoy a not too dry white wine..and i was sure to try enough to find it. And forgive me i dont remember the names of the vineyards, not sure if it matters but certainly didn't at the end of the day.

We headed back to Melbourne for my last night in town. We had dinner and then went for a walk along South Bank, in the city centre. A lovely area by the river with restaurants, bars, cafes, grassy areas, boat cruises. We had had enough wine so were happy to finish our day with an ice cream and a tea...and our visit for that matter.
Emma dropped me off at the airport very early in the morning.

I had a fantastic week!! Emma and I picked up right where we had left off...like no time had passed, like true friends. I love that! Great conversation, great company, great comfort!
