Yello!
It's been a long while eh..my apologies. But to be honest there hasn't been anything too crazy happening in the life of Tracy. As i said when i first got to Brisbane, i would try not let everyday routine life get the better of me but it did...and it was quite lovely actually. I really appreciated living in a house, having a bedroom, spots to put things, seeing famaliar faces, just being in the same spot for a while. (I'm typing this as i have already left all this behind so of course the appreciation rises).

So i quite my job, after worknig for a whole 4 months. My last month in Brisbane mainly consisted of working and not too much exciting play as i was trying to save the pennies. I did dogsit, Basia, Jingo's dog for a week and stayed at the family funhouse so had the a whole house to myself. Now that i mention it, that is the most exciting thing. I never grew up with dogs or even been sole responsibiilty for a dog for any period of time before but it all worked oot...Basia is a treasure, she's a lovely pooch.

I did have some visitors from Oh Canada which was lovely. Uncle Gord and aunty Anne stopped in Brsbane for the night as they were on their way up the coast...barely even realized they were in Australia before they were at my doorstep, that was a good thing. They met me at my work and we went for a wee wander around the river, the fake beach, and the city centre, had some beers obviously, dinner. We really had a lovely visit..it was really nice to see some famaliar faces so far from home and a good 'ol chin-wag. And they seemed to having a grand time on their own travels...how wonderful!

We had some wicked ass storms. Hadn't seen rain here at all really then had 4 crazy mofo storms in a week. Some of them were classified as a natural disaster....huge winds torn some homes' roofs and walls off and caused floods, and roads were blocked, no electricity in parts for a while. Fortunately none of this was in my little suburb of Rosalie even though the part of Brisbane that got it the worst was only a 10 min walks away. The lightning the storm produced was absolutely amazing though, never seen such cool bolt lightning before that would just light up the entire sky...luckily i was indoors for the majority of the upheavel.

Before i left Brisvegas (as they call it, not sure why and don't know who they are), there was a small shin-dig. Jingo and Lorna threw a party to say bye to all their mates as they were leaving as well, after 4 yrs in Aus back to their natives' lands (US and UK repsectively). So that was a bit of a shoree as the last few of us managed to stay up to see the sun come up. And then i stumbled home, down the street...

Then i packed up my things (again) which took aboot 3 hrs to clear my room and I was off. I was driving north to Cairns in my very own bushcamper (as they call it) or campervan..I had 5 days, 2500km to spare (only 17000 up there so loads) , $210 fuel allowance (not so much with price of fuel) and me!!! It's been a while since i drove a proper vehicular so hang on....
