Rick and I took a very wee road trip southeast to the coast, the Gold Coast it's called, just for the night...only an hr away. Rick has a house there, in a town called Southport, right near all the cheesy tourist bits...that his mom lives in and he had some business to take care of. So i went along for the ride...

It really is a lovely coast with gorgeous blue water and white soft sand that stretches many kms up and down the coast. It definitely wasn't warm enough for any swimming or activites of any sort but a lovely day for a walk along the beach as the sun was still shining. We ended in Surfer's Paradise which is really touristy and a surfer's hotspot obviously. It's filled with cafes, resturants, bars, hotels, etc. Rick doesn't like the gold coast due to it's cheese factor, but i reckon it's nice place to visit, just not to live. Will definitely have to go back when it's warmer to enjoy all that is has to offer...

Another fine day back in Brisbane...at dusk, Rick and I went up to Mount Cootha, only a few mins drive from the house to see the sunset. It's a lovely view of the entire city..it's about 700m above sea level so not too bad. The sunset that day wasn't anything spectular but good lighting nonetheless. I reckon the lights at night on the all the buildings and bridges and what not, make it for a better view than during the day.

So i'm getting oot and aboot somewhat....which is nice. And it's even better that i have my peeps that can tell me where to go, and even show me where to go...makes everything that much easier and way more enjoyable!! Lovely....
