Here i am on my last leg of my journey sort of speak..last country before Aus! I'm looking forward to Aus but certainly gonna make the most of the next two weeks as my time in Asia will be sadly coming to an end...back to the western world!

Welcome to Java, one of thousands of islands but the most populated with half of the country's population (around 250 million peeps in Indonesia, 4th most populated country in the world). My intent was not even to stay a night in Jakarta, as i assumed it to be a very busy, big capital city which i wasn't fancying. I took the airport bus to the main train station and tried to get a ticket. I soon realized with the massive lines and after eventually making it to the front of the line at the right corner that it was the holidays in Indonesia...i had two destinations in mind and both were fully booked for that night and the next day, and one for the next 2 weeks. So found myself a hotel room...

I got up the next morning to try my hand at the bus situation...i had a destination but had no idea what time the buses left or from which bus station. There were 4 stations, all well out of the city (how convenient) by 20km...so which one to pick, my guide book was only vague. Luckilyly as i stood on the side of the road trying to get a taxi, to very nice guys helped me out..told me which station for sure..and then told me to hide and they will get a taxi for me for a good 'local' price (as i had no idea). How lovely! I'm sure the cabbies are never happy when that happens and realize it's for a tourist...haha. I'm happy though. Made it to the station literally right on time as i got shoved (in a nice way) to the bus as it was just pulling away. The 1st few hours were trying as there was no a/c, just tiny windows up above and we were stuck in a massive traffic jam for the 1st 3 hours...hello holidays! I didn't melt though so it's all good....
