Our busy itinerary while in Soroako began with a very interesting visit to the local market to buy some fresh fruits and vegetables. The best word to describe it is "raw". Chicken and fish being cut up right in front of you - just be careful you don't get "splashed". Or perhaps you would like to take them home still alive? The ground was the most disturbing part - everything goes there - a sloppy, stinky, disgusting mess - I should have worn my platform shoes!
The area near the market is right out of a National Geographic magazine - filthy dirty kids, walking around with no shoes.  Very, very poor.  They are still so happy and soooo cute.  The absolutely adore getting their picture taken and pose whenever given the chance.
The afternoon was spent on a mini pub crawl visiting all of Soroako's finest establishments - including 2 brothels. The outing began traveling to the first bar on a Rink-a-tink-tink boat. It was great fun to meet and mingle with the "Expats" that live among Susan and my Dad - a wonderful, diverse group that sure likes to have a good time.
The night finished off with another party - a Valentine's Pot Luck Dinner and Dance at the Yaught club.
