Happy Christmas everyone!!!
My Christmas was spent in the North Peruvian beach resort of Mancora. My hotel is right on the beach so at 6.30am on Christmas morning I walked out onto the sand to greet the festive day. There was a group of about 20 other travellers on the beach who had been up all night and had arranged with the locals to hire their horses for a race along the beach. There being a spare horse they asked if I wanted to join them. Having being reassured by the horses 13yr old owner that his horse was very slow and friendly (I appreciate he would have told me anything I wanted to hear as long as I paid him my money!), and realising as least I had the advantage of sobriety over the other jockeys I decided to give it a go. It was a lovely morning and a great way to see the beach, I progressed to a slow trot at one point and was most proud of my equine skills especially when Victor felt confident enough to let go of the rope for a few moments that he was leading the horse with.
We even managed to eat roast Turkey for Christmas dinner (nothing like my mum makes!) served with traditional spaghetti! The most festive part of the day was watching a Harry Potter film on the TV in the evening, if it wasn´t for the Spanish sub titles, heat and mosquitoes you could almost be at home...

Happy New Year
Your Christmas Day sounded great.
I was in Wengen, Switzerland skiing for the week and spent Christmas Day sledging down fast sledge runs.
Where are you for New Year? It's 8 a.m. here so I guess you are just into the 1st Jan.
Hope to hear more soon.
Take care and Happy New Year....
Love Simon xx
