Leaving Caracas was not difficult to do, and I don´t see me returning there too soon! We took a 6 hr bus journey along the coast, and the final leg of the journey to Santa Fe was by Taxi, they were old big American cars that should have been scrapped years ago and the drivers were lunatic, overtaking on the winding bends as if it was a scene from ´Whacky Racers´. We eventually arrived in a tiny fishing village, our ´posada´ (small guest house) was right on the beach and we all hit the water when we got there and swam in the dark under the stars. Ate fantastic sea food in a restaurant, then to our amusement we watched the staff chase a rat around which ran up the table leg!
All sat on the beach drinking whilst our guide Lenin played his guitar, very chilled.
