A week of camping in the city, chillin by the beach, and killing time is nearly over. Tommorow i will be getting a ride to North Carolina with some Quakers from gathering.

It has defiantly been an interesting new kind of week for me, living a whole different kind of lifestyle. I had two different places where i would set up my tent at night. One was a 20 minute walk from the beach in a wilderness refuge, where i found a corner where people who walked their dogs in the morning couldn't see. The other was right on the edge of the URI ( University), in a small inlet in some trees with sloppy ground that had slugs on it.
I would ditch my pack in the morning and try to stay on the down low around here. I wandered around, observing society from the outside it seemed to me. I had alot of ups and downs emotionally from all this, but i also had many great times.

Day 3 Journal exert
" Today i went into Providence, Rhode Island. It was a nice looking city for sure, but what really stood out to me after being there was how the suits (business people) we mixed in with the trashier type of people. It was just different. I saw some people shooting up heroin under a bridge right next to the capitol, so i am not exactly sure how i felt about the place. They had alot of street food though."

Day 4 Full journal

"Swam in the ocean waves with the harvest moon ( I Think) rising over the water, before an amazing firework show shot off a barge.

Remembering that it is not easy to be alone, but it is amazing how much saying a couple words to a random person can cheer me up.... songs help to

Getting over camping alone fears"

Day 5 journal
" Did yoga this morning for the first time of this trip.

Had some great highs and some lonely lows, but i will always remember those highs, and the lows will just drift out of thought. So i am having a good time here in rhode island.

Today was just another day to kill. i got stranded by the beach because the buses don't run on the 4th. Which was ok until i realized there was no cheap food by the beach except dunkin donuts, which i didn't particularly want. So i took a walk, and found a grocery store finally, but that was only after 3 .5 miles of walking one way in the burning sun. If nothing else i am getting in shape with these days of nothing to do. im averageing 5 miles of walking a day i bet.

Today was the first day that i spent completely alone.... I need to start meeting people cause this lone life is not for me.
Well gonna head to down to the beach now because its free after 5 oclock.
Been finding wood ticks all around me but none on me which is pretty wierd, and just realized how many mosquito bites i have. i havent really had any problems with it."

Day 6
"Got talked to by the police for the first time. I was sitting with my pack at a bus stop  for awhile, and they stopped to check my ID citing recent car break ins as the reason.

Just realized i have a ton of tiny ticks on my legs, i just thought they were dirt and sand.... there that small.

Good day around FGC hung out, saw jon watts, played soccer. After 6 day of camping in the hot sun and society i kinda need a shower before the 13 hour car trip."

So now i will be finding a shower hopefully and watching closely for signs of lymns disease!
