Journal entry from yesterday (Day 1)

" Lets's start off by saying that today has gone better than i could have possibly dreamed. It gives me a great feeling about what is to come. I am writing this while sitting on a beautiful ocean beach in Rhode Island, just to let you know.

The truth is though, i was pretty damn worried this morning . i had no idea what was about to happen. I was paranoid about how i would spend my time, and where i was going to sleep, but with how well today has gone so far, i think i will be alright. The day started with an eleven hour drive overnight from Pittsburg, which was nothing special, but i did really enjoy seeing new york for the first time. When we got to Rhode Island i was on three hours of sleep. The smart thing to do was take a nap, but i couldn't bring myself to doing that. It was the beginning of my trip and i had to start walking. i heard the beach was about 6 miles away so i thought what the hell, the ocean is one of the main reasons i came here so i might as well go right away. I pulled my pack out of the car and got on the highway going east. It took me about a half hour to start questioning what i was doing, i didn't know exactly how far the ocean was, or even if their was a public beach, but i kept walking.
It took an hour and a half to get near anything that told me that i was even close to the ocean, where i found a hotel with a map of a pier. I kept walking feeling as if i was on top of the world, because i was so near the ocean shore, but another hour went by and i started questioning myself. It was then that a man stopped and offered me a ride. I have now offically ridden with a stranger. I knew i would at some point, but i never expected it to be so soon.
He got me to the beach which was still two miles from where i had walked to, but i gotta say that 12 or so miles of walking and riding with a stranger were definatly worth it. The beach was sandy and full of people with 5 foot waves. I had an awesome time body surfing, and even had a nice quick nap on the beach with the sound of real waves to calm me.

I Love It!

So now i shall go off and find some food and a place to sleep. It's been a great beginning."

Journal following day 1
" After the beach i walked around looking really confused, i didn't really know where to go. i hadn't eaten all day so i was thinking i should find some food, but being the cheap basterd that i am, i didn't want to go into any of the resturants on the rich coastal shore.
After walking around awhile and losing one of my water bottles and knowing that everyone in town was staring at me, i took off down a road i hadn't been on yet. I was suprised how quickly i found a place to stay. It was half hour into the walk and i came upon a wildlife sanctuary area and it seemed like the perfect area to set up a tent.
Once camp was set up i realized how tired i was, but was so papanoid of police, murderers, or even random people that might walk by that i didn't want to sleep. i fell asleep anyway forgetting about my hunger and these people problems. I still woke up every couple of hours scared though haha"

Side note: there are an amazing number of bikers passing me as i write this"
