The night before I had asked our guide, Paolo, for a fast horse. Well why not? I learnt to horse ride, I should be good at this still. I needed to prove to my colleagues that I might be crap at fishing but I could still do other things!
Well, my horse was loco at the start! I thought I was going to go a cropper but bless him, let him eat grass, drink water and give him a few encouraging pats and he was like putty in my hands.
Sinead is scared of horses and her horse was a bitt too lively so she swapped with Carmen (Austrian). Hoeever, when Carmen got off her horse she stood on its foot and it bucked up and sent Nicola´s horse on a bit of a jaunt
I am surprised Clive´s horse didn´t have a heart attack. He couldn´t even sit on it properly and the poor thing looked like it was goingt o keel over at any moment. We went through dense forest and whilst we didn´t see any real wildlife it was fantastic. Near the end we were allowed to gallop if we chose to so myseld, Jada, John, Alvaro, Carmen and Jess went for it. Fantastico! What an absolutely wicked wicked day!
In the afternoon we went walking in the forest. Saw a snake and wild boars but that was about it. It was bloody hot - I have never felt such extreme heat.
Anyway - night time stories....last night, Jada, John and Alvaro (who were sharing a room) heard mad Clive talking at 11pm, 3am and 5 am. He was shouting `´ go on boy! Go on! Write it down! Write it down!´´ Barking
This evening - screams from the sickie room. ´John ! Alvaro! Help!´´. We went in and a frog (!!) had climed up the plughole and was jumping around in the bathroom. A frog. A little frog. Being the intrepid brave traveller I am (ha ha not) I caught it in a glass and gave it to Alvaro so he could claim the glory! Men.
