North of LA it was quite a nice drive, the highway being lined with trees bearing almonds, pistachios, and a whole host of fruit, and we even saw fields of cotton. We also stopped at a quirky middle of no-where petrol station where we spent a bit of time admiring the large collection of flick knives and star throwing knives available for sale, can you imagine trying to get those through customs ;)
We tried our very first Denny's place for lunch today. After mum ordering the super huge pizza the other day I really thought she'd learnt her lesson, but I was wrong and we had to get half her over sized lunch in a doggy bag to go, bless.
South of LA it was pretty much just traffic, but glimpses of the sun setting over the water along the way made the traffic more bearable.
Then we arrived in Little Italy, San Diego (home for the next few nights) and treated ourselves to a posh and yummy Italian dinner. Perfect way to end the day.
