Today I devoted the majority of the day to the Golden Gate Bridge in order to view it from hours away to right up close, walking the whole distance along the bay to the bridge only to finally delete about 50 photos to put a small selection in with this entry, so if you think the 5 I have included are 4 to many spare a thought for the 50 on the cutting room floor.

The bridge is captivating, no matter what angle you look at it from you just want to keep walking towards it to see if from a closer or different perspective. This did not necessarily thrill mum straight off the bat as it turned into a really long walking day and now she's too pooped to pop, but I've given her half a dozen G&Ts tonight to make up for it and so she forgets how stiff she is, sorry ma, but probably not really or I would have let us stop rather than keep walking ;)

After hours devoted to the bridge we finally headed back towards Fisherman's Wharf for a fab bowl of crab chowder served in a bowl made of San Fran's famous Boudin's sourdough bread, yumbo!

Then it was a stroll around Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 till our legs finally did give way for the day and we caught the trolley car homeward bound (well hotel bound anyway) for a belated happy hour, or, truth be told, hours.
