After a dodgy nights sleep we got up at half past 6 another early start and got a taxi to luton airport and checked in fine I set all the alarms off through security and had to be frisked ha ha I was convinced its my implant but Ian nicely told me it was plastic.

I felt a bit sick on the airplane a combination of early starts and I have become a nervous flyer over the years but the flight was great and we manager to get to Istanbul safe.  Ian was great he knew what bus we had to catch to Taksim square and then we doubled up with another english couple to get a taxi to Sultanahmen the taxi driver was lovely but ended up charging us 43 turkish lira which apparently should have been 10 well you live and learn but not all the people here are like that.

The hostel is ok not the ritz but I can just about cope.  They have a roof terrace with an amazing view over the Bospherous and the Asian side of Istanbul as as you go over the bridge one side is Asia the other Europe.  Its a very cool city very crazy but the people are amazing, you do get a little hassle from the guys trying to get you into a shop to buy a carpet ha ha but nothing too bad when you laugh and say no money or not interested they soon leave you alone.

Its Ramadam here at the moment so the days are very quiet apart from the Call to prayer which is like nothing you have ever heard the big mosques all have loud speakers on and the men call out for the people to come and pray in like a mournfull singing way.  We went for a walk just after we had had a beer on the terrace and ended up sitting in a turkish bar. The Turkey game was on so it was great to see all the men (Alex they are too cute but dont tell Ian)  We had some turkish pizza bread and it was lovely.  I have learned a few turkish words and made a few friends already its such a cool city.
