I'd been debating whether or not it would be worth it to head north to Hershey, PA, but after booking a foot massage at the Hotel Hershey Spa, I decided it would be well worth the drive. And as far as the spa goes, my feet are quite happy - I only wish I could have afforded to stay there all day. Unfortunately, after about an hour, I had to venture forth.
After a quick walk thru the Hershey Gardens I found myself lost in Hershey, trying to follow the millions of "Hershey Attractions" signs but still not sure where I was or what I was even looking for. I ended up at a giant "store" that sells all things Hershey. I don't understand why we're all so willing to spend a fortune on chocolate bars that we could by at our local grocery store for much less. I jumped on the bandwagon though and bought a Hershey's Special Dark bar for 3 dollars, but restrained myself from the Hershey's sweatshirt, pencil cases, and stuffed chocolate bar characters. After after 30 minutes of being surrounded by tourists in a state of chocolate induced bliss, it all became too much. I started heading back to Martinsburg and nibbled on my chocolate bar the entire way.
