After three days of riding we entered Louisiana. We took a day off from riding in New Orleans. Evidence of the devistation caused by hurricane Katrina was still apparent for all to see; abandoned homes, derelict offices and broken roads were all around. While the city centre with its historic French Quarter was full of the life that made it a famous party town, local people told us how many former residence would never return.
