I took the shared minibus to Nungwi Beach, but it seems like they are trying to rip off tourists, so I said screw it and went to Kendwa Beach instead. It is the low season right now in Zanzibar and instead of selling single rooms, they lie and say only double rooms are available so that you'll have to pay more. Of course, I refuse to fall for that and I found Kendwa Rocks which has dorm rooms for $10 USD. It's a real nice beach over here. I spent about 3 hours just sitting around doing nothing. I ran into Mark, the guy I met on Kilimanjaro, and met a Korean guy who was in Africa for 3 months traveling before having his camera and ATM card stolen. I exchanged $100 USD with him since he had a friend Western Union him $800 USD which was given to him in Tanzanian shillings.

In any case, everything here is real expensive, so I'm trying to save up and just have the essentials. Water is 1500 shillings and food is around 4000-8000 shillings. I'm still deciding whether or not to go diving. It's also official. Washington Mutual locked my account. What a bunch of pricks.

In any case, I'm getting extremely dark. My face is very tanned even though I'm putting on SPF50 sunblock. It's quite disturbing, but Kendwa is great. I think it's better than the Phi Phi islands and Phuket... I think I'll have to visit more beaches so that I can do a better comparison.

I ran out of drinking water so I've been using sink water and putting in Iodine tablets to clean it. It hasn't been very effective, but I'm not really sick. I did have some strange stomach pains, but they went so I guess I'm ok.
