We are now in London. We had a 3 hour guided tour around the main parts of central London on Friday which gave everyone a chance to work out what they would like to come back and see. Yesterday we went to the Changing of the Guards at Buckingham Palace in the morning and then there was a range of places that the girls went to visit in the afternoon - some went to Portobello Rd Market; some went to Hyde Park and the Peter Pan Statue and a big group went down to the London Dungeons. We went down to the Half Price Tix Booths in Leicester Square yesterday and set up visits tot he theatre. Some of the girls went to see The Lion King and others went to Billy Elliott, Mary Poppins, Dirty Dancing and We Will Rock You. All that went really loved going to the theatre in the West End! Some of the girls were trying to catch up with the Davernant girls, however the Central Line closed for much of the afternoon and this was the line that they were due to travel down to London on - so they were not able to catch up.
Today (Sunday) we have a large group going out to Wimbledon with Barb and Julie , some have gone off to Speakers Corner in Hyde Park with Kim and then the others are shopping for the morning off Oxford Street. We are starting to think about coming home now. The weather has been cold but clear here so it will be really strange hitting the Melbourne heat that we have been hearing about. The bushfires hit the BBC news for the first time last night (up until then the only news of Australia was about the cricket). The girls are doing really well and looking forward to catching up with everyone at home soon (and those that are staying are looking forward to their next adventure!)
