Well we left Phuket on a flight bound for Kuala Lumpur (KL as it shall now be known)and left Thailand behind. We arrived on the 11th Nov for our 3 day jaunt hoping to see a few of the sights before we left for Singapore. Once arrived, we caught the train to Chinatown where we would be staying. Turns out that as soon as we got off the trin, the heavans opened and it absolutely chucked it down. With no sign of it stopping, we donned our waterproofs and rucksack covers and ventured into the unknown. We had to cross what seemed like fast flowing rivers, the rain was that heavy, but we finally managed to get to our hotel safe and sound, if not looking like drowned rats. We unpacked, dried off, then ventured out for dinner at one of the millions of chinese restaurants based in Chinatown (probably pretty obvious.) The next day we ventured out to the Petronas Towers, however we got up a wee bit late and missed the chance of going up to the skybridge that joins the two towers. The things are bloody high. We grabbed a few pics than headrd into the shopping mall under the towers. Everything from Gucci to Topshop. Sarah saw a pair of trousers in there cheaper than she had bought back home. SHe wasnt happy. That evening we went out and ate clay-pot rice with chicken, a local dish which was very nice indeed. We wandered the market place, and were offered numerous copied DVD's and fake watches, but we resisted and pressed on back to the hotel. We managed to book a flight out of KL, but seeing as though the weekend was a public holiday and Deepvali was on, it was proving dificult. We did manage to get a flight and that meant we were due to leave on the 13th November. We flew out of KL, managing to catch a glance of the Malaysian Grand Prix race track, looked very impressive, before we headed off to Singapore. Our last stop before hitting Australia.
