We did a 3 hour this morning to see a bit of the Abel Tasman national park. We could have taken the 5 day trek but decided against it. We came across the classic silver New Zealand fern, apparently used by Maori's to find their way home, and also found some lovely beaches on the way. We then drove the distance back to a town called Havelock to stop off for some of the local green mussles and we found the roof decorations quite entertaining with a recreation of the all blacks v's the lions on there with mussles. See the photo and it will make sense. We then drove over to Picton to get ready for our leaving the south island and moving onto the north......
