3rd July 2005

We left Airlie and moved onto 1770 on the overnight bus meaning we arrived early oin the morning. We booked a place called Aloha, a magnificent place, more like a 5 star resort than a backpackers place. We sandered down to the beach for a look around and then into the small town to try and book a trip out to Lady Musrave island. We manaed to find one and promptly got ourselves on the boat for the next day, however we were warned that it my be a little choppy on the boat. They were due some bad winds. We spent the evening trying some delicious Moreton Bay Bugs, and sinking a few drinks.

4th July 2005.

The bat left early in the morning after the company decided to go ahead with the trip. The trip out to the island was ridiculous. Lots and lots of big waves meaning lots and lots of people throwing up all over the place. Turns out that the crew took bets as to how long it would take. 6 minutes was the winner. We got to the island and had a wander around taking in the local scenery before we were let into the water. We booked the trip for one thing and that was the turtles. Green turtles are here all year around and we managed to swim out to the cleaning station for them. We saw loads of them. In the afternoon we moved to another spot for snorkelling and found some more turtles. The water was clear as anything, thus the nickname the aquarium for where we dived. That was about it.
