Day 6
Ok, it was worth the extra kms and $ to come up here: the dolphins are adorable!
It is never as expected, of course: 100 other people also know about the dolphins and we
are not allowed in the water cause there are calves around. At a very young age,
they follow everything that moves and could follow a human onto shore.
The little ones do not have good swimming skills yet and are a bit all over the place.
One adult dolphin in specific is very curious and just lays on his side, staring at us.
Dolphins cannot see in from of themselves, so they need to turn sideways to look at you.
They can use their other eye to look out for predators, at the same time. At 9 we are
back home where I cook a full breakfast.
After a bit of planning, we decide to hit the road, visit Denham and head out, skipping
Carnarvon.
Tony needs to stop at more gorges, we also take pictures of a couple of interesting signs.
The Anglican church is completely build out of shells from the shell beach and is
a pretty little thing. Lots of pics are taking for Dad who uses those for his
magazines.
After the sightseeing, we are driving back to the highway north-south, where I take over for a couple of hours.
We arrive at the campingside, where we stayed on our way up at 16h and decide that it is
too boring to stay here again and we are driving further south.
