Where I stayed
Up late = leave late.
I was so exhausted, I could not get out of my bed.Plan was to be at the renting place at 7h30, we arrived at 8h30. Since they were still CLEANING our van and no other costumers were picking up at that moment, I guess we were lucky we did not get up so early.
It was also a rainy day but since too hot is not good for the pussycat, we did not mind.
Unbelievable what Tony collected for our trip: everything but the kitchensink BUT including his weather station, the fan and potatoes
To my surprise, everything fits perfectly, even space left!
10h30: direction ... north!
We do not take highway 1 but freeway 60, which follows the coast line. After less than 200 km, we drive into Guildeton, which is as a city, not worth mentioning.
I make ourselves a couple of sandwiches, have lunch and off we go.
BaH pretends he has been travelling in a campervan his whole life. I haven't and it is HUGE.
We poke our snout into Lancelin which looks a bit more interesting than Guilderton. It has snow white sand dunes, which you can ski like snow.
We ignore The Pinnacles (been there done that with Plas), cheerfully pass by Leeman, were Ros stays every 2nd weekend, do not visit John’s dad and end up in Cliff head; WILDCAMPING
We have several camping maps and 1 is wildcamping with pets in NWA.
We find a great place, a couple of meters from the beach and we set up for the night.
ALL is well until...a herd of Germans in a van shows up and takes those 2 meters which separates us from the beach to park for the night!!!!! I just could not believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They had to SQUEEZE themselves in the ONLY spot in our view from the beach and they did. With kms of beach at both sides. I was counting on my Tomcat to tell them off and he didn’t. Moving would be a hassle for us: we took everything out of the cupboards already. Until we went to sleep, I was expecting someone to shout 'candid camera’ but no, there they were and there they stayed and stayed...
