And we do. There is a waterfall tour in the newspaper: 330 km. Of course, we are late for our car pick-up. We leave direction north. First stop: Tolga. 'Picturesque town with stalls everywhere, not only fruit and vegetables but also local craft' our newspaper says. This IS the fruit/veggie area but we do not find any stalls let alone local craft. No wooden boxes, Girls! What we do find, is a pub. First beer.

We drive west and arrive in Atherton. There is a Chinese temple here. This used to be China town. The temple is in fact a little ugly warehouse. Somebody is giving explanation in the temple. We are greeted with: 'have you been by the office?' which we take as: 'have you paid?' we did not know there was a office. We drive back to the center of town. They still have animal shops here. We find: kitties: rag dolls. They are white with ginger ears and paws, blue eyes and they go all fluffy when you hug them. Should we bring a girlfriend for Jr, Girls? They are 1000$! But, Jr deserves it, right?! We go for a dodgy meal in a dodgy pub.

We drive back north. Dr T finds the most famous curtain fig tree. Seeds of the figs travel in droppings and end up on another tree. Where it starts growing DOWN. An upside down tree. It strangles the tree, pushes it crooked so it falls on another tree and forms a curtain down. The result is beautiful but it did kill 2 trees.

Ravenshoe waterfalls, with very local pub.

Millaa Millaa waterfalls with highest pub in Queensland.

And back via Innisfail. The sun went down already and we still have 100 km to drive. How did this happen? We pick up a Subway and drive home.

Not spectacular but a great day.

Tomorrow, we are leaving, direction north.
