We fly to Chuuk today. Bye bye Guam. I did enjoy it. I would not choose for the hotel again:

http://www.guamhotel.com/

In hindsight, we should have looked a bit more. The place was filthy. The hall smelled bad. Mind you: every day it had another disgusting smell: rotten fish, cattle, ... . Most of the time, we only used the car to go the town, so if you add the car and the hotel, it should be possible to get something better for that money.

Continental flight to Chuuk. Big queue. Which does not move because the computers are down, so there is not checking in. When we finally get to the check in, 2 men, checking in next to us, are fussed over. Do they want to sit next to each other of behind each other? Do they want aisle or window? Front or back? They are not interested at all. But the check in hostess keeps on fussing. We find ourselves squeezed by a man sitting on the aisle. We always book with a preference for aisle. And I often end up sitting in the middle. My 'aisle person' always falls asleep before the plane takes off and does not wake up until after landing. It makes me feel trapped. Why do people sleeping the whole flight want aisle seats? My neighbor is 1 of 3 blokes, who all sit at an aisle seat, fast asleep. The rest of the plane is awake.

The food is not so bad, this time!

Luggage pick up and a sign 'Blue Lagoon Resort' is a giveaway. We step into a very primitive bus. And wait. And wait. It is steaming hot. Half an hour later, a group of Japanese arrives and we finally leave.

We drive by the Truukstop, one of the 2 dive resorts on the island. We contacted them but they never answered. I am glad we are not there. Our hotel has 54 rooms, all with view on the lagoon. It is after 11 when we are in our room and Hubby goes for a sniff, promising to stay in the resort. I start worrying after half an hour. Everything in the resort is closed. And I am trapped: I saw 2 cockroaches having a party in the room, so I do not dare to come off the bed anymore. Tomcat comes home an hour later (has been chatting, of course), kills half of the cockroach population and we go to sleep. Tomorrow, we will discover the place to go diving the day after.
