After a great breakfast, we leave direction Kruger. Tonight we are staying at a private game park, close to Kruger. All credit to Annie, who booked us this gorgeous places. Talking of which: she is reading her newspaper in the back and says: the airline company, flying us from Cape Town to Jo'burg at the end of our holiday, is out of business. It is a worry, since they have a connecting flight home the same day.
We are going via the 'Blyde Canyon', a rough landscape with stunning views. I will include a map of our tour, one of these days, promise! Our first stop, Dr T finds some wildlife: grasshoppers! I will also bore you with some South-African language signs, which will only be funny to the Dutch speaking.
And, yes, you have to admire our wheels and the guy, jumping of the rock, it is the yellow spot in front of the camera. The canyons were breathtaking. It was not easy on Ann and me: Ann with her cast, me with my painful knee. The best one for me, was where the 'Treure' (sad) and 'Blyde' (happy) rivers came together. You can see a perfect expression of it in our pictures.
We arrived in 'our' lounge, where Bert welcomed us.
Since we are the only guests, we can choose our rooms. The bar is open: you take and write it down: I like this place. The butts up are Greta and Ann unpacking. The lodge is ALL game. The napkins, sheets, table clothes, even Kleenex and tooth picks have a fur design. Bet serves us a lovely meal: salmon mouse, steak and ice cream with perfect fresh fruit. We are out in the wild, play liar dice and listen to Bert's stories, about life and death in the nature. Ann makes her remark of the day: well, you get born, you fuck and you die. With that thought, we all go to sleep, because tomorrow, tomorrow: we go to Kruger
