Where I stayed

We were in the internet cafe and left for Boca Raton with the only purpose: buying a laptop on the way. We found the shop but they did not have the laptop in stock, which we knew. Can we buy it, you get it configured and we pick it up? No. 'We are not going to take the responsibility to keep such a expensive laptop here'. Wait a minute: we pay for it now! The answer is still: no.

Dr T says he will go for plan B (he always has several plans, up to G if you want). We drive to our booked next destination: Pompano Beach. We stay in 'motels'. It is difficult ot explain what a motel is, for those of you who never stayed in one. Even if you take the same brand in the same state, the quality is different. So far, we had Super8 and Motel6. Normally, the rooms are: big, clean, have a private bathroom and at least coffee in the morning.

We check into our Motel6. I do not understand 1 word the (black) guy behind the counter says. Oh, yes I do, I understand 'guest' and '2 hours'. He is waiting for an answer, Dr T says 'no'. I ask him what that was and he says (with that crooked smile of his) 'the guy said that if we have a guest, the guest can only stay max 2 hours'. Tell me, dear friends and family: what does that mean? I did not understand!

The room was daggy, much worse then any we have seen so far in the States. Small and worn out.

Since we want to go to Miami tomorrow and we do not have any internet at hand (again) Dr T starts calling with those vouchers (remember you recommended them, Michal) for an discount. He called for hours. He got the strangest remarks: 'booking is closed for the day, try tomorrow', 'we do not except vouchers' (what do we have in our hands then???), 'sure, step in tomorrow' and hung up. That husband of mine is a saint of patience. (I know you always say so, Annie, since he manages to live with me for almost 4 years.) But: we do not manage to book.

OK, food. We drive around in the area and find a 'Pollo Tropicana'. We think chicken:great.
I forgot to mention: we bought a supply of beer and softdrinks and a fridge box, so we always have cold drinks. Since we still wake up at 7 in the morning, we are happy to have some take away in the room, a read and early night. Choosing is difficult. No, not too much choice, I cannot believe my choice of vegetables is black beans of no black beans. My choice of patatoes is fries or rice, no potatoes, mach or bread. We make the best of it and drive home to discover: they did not deliver forks, salt, ... . Luckily we are trekkers, we have are own 'silverware', I cannot eat rice with my fingers. The food is terribble; horrible, we just cannot stop laughing. Look at us, homeless, jobless, in a very daggy hotel room with uneatable food. Well, we wanted some adventure.
