The next day my hubby finds me a dental emergency clinic: and manages to make an appointment for 11 and to our surprise: it starts raining cats and dogs when we drive there.

No worries, by the time my dental is done, it will be full sunshine! I am nervous. Not about the treatment the dentist might do but about what they will try to push down my throat. I have been a dental assistant as a working student for years and know exactly what I need and certainly what I do NOT want!

We get there just in time and the dental assistant: with her mouth mask already on, gives me instructions. Fill this in! I do. I told you fill in the 2 pages. Sorry, I could not understand you with that thing over your mouth. It is very American. I do not have any diseases and if you kill me I take the responsibility. Filled in! She says: we are going to take an x-ray. I say ma'am, I do not need an x-ray, I need an emergency filling. Answer: no x-ray, no treatment. OK, x-ray and please conclude I need an emergency filling.

Half an hour later, a fossil dentist comes walking in to the fossil dental room and says: you need an emergency filling. He talks slowly and clearly like to a small child or a retard. I am very relieved I do not have to defend my own choice and say OK. He says; my assistant will be with you shortly. Ten minutes later he comes back. He repeats the same thing. The assistant comes in and gives me the filling. Forms get filled in and an hour and 200 bucks later, we are out and ... it is still pouring.

We have a plan: we go to the largest book store in St-Petersburg and spend a pleasant hour there. Then we go for lunch. Followed by Culture: the Dali Museum. We both pick out our favourite painting and say why. He is the second best painter ever!!!!!!! You do not have to ask about the first best, of course it is our own R. Magritte. You can see which painting style I like.

Driving home, we do some shopping. You have to know about my Tomcat: he loves shopping. Certainly in 'his' toy shops: a bag for his electronics, Cd-Roms,... . We also have to do some practical shopping: food, drinks, snacks, etc. It still pours. We take a healthy sandwich home for diner and have a look at the forecast.  Unfortunately: we read and satellite images radar too well: rain again tomorrow, how can that be???
