We were in the internet cafe hunting for a computer. I am already a bit grumpy (never more then a bit, right, Tomcat?). This morning I put my coke (hotel without coffee) on the 'corner' of the cupboard. Only, it does not have a corner but a curve and indeed, it slipped off. What is bad about that? IT F...ING FELL IN THE DRAWER WITH MY F...ING JUST WASHED CLOTHES. Can you imagine the amounts of 'g.verg.verg.dver. ...'?

I will make a long story 'hunting for a laptop' short, otherwise, we will a saga 3, saga4, ... . That day AND the following day we spent surfing and calling. Dr T had it with walking to the hotel to call all the time and bought himself an American mobile. The worse story was the one with sparco.com. The website does not say: 'only American credit cards accepted', so we are hopeful. Dr T sends his order by mail and we wait for the response. They deliver the next day, it says. After several mails and a couple of phone calls, we have the promise: tomorrow and leave happily to go rollerblading.

The next day we wait for hours, Dr T checks his mail, calls the guy and ... all of a sudden they say they will have to ask the credit company for authorisation and that will take at least 48 hours. In the mean time, we have to stay in Miami. Dr T says, maybe if you call AmEx, they can do something about this. I do call and yes they can. It takes half an hour of calling Belgium and Dr T calls back to sparco.com to tell them that I got an american authorisation for 3000 Euro, with their name on it and the address in Miami as a officially delivery address. OK, they say tomorrow you will receive it. Another morning of waiting in the hotel. When Dr T calls at the end of the morning, oh, ya, there is an issue, we need you to print out a form, fill in it and send a copy of your passport and recto-verso credit card and then tomorrow... .

Tomorrow comes, Dr T checks his email and ... there is a mail from those very same people, that they do not exept our payment: no laptop. Dr T calls, yes, the manager does not approve the authorisation. 'I am a bit disappointed about this way of working' is all my darling sweetheard says. Try this with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Surfing and calling again. We find a company, Dr T orders and it will be delivered the next day, Ya, right! The next day comes and before 9AM ... the extra memory Dr T ordered arrives. We do not really know what to think of that. But, guess what: at 1 in the afternoon his toy arrives. Now of course, he has to have a look at it and in the late afternoon we go shopping for a bag for it, SW and games of course.

We drop by at a diving center, since Dr T's diving computer is out of battery and, of course, the people of the shop start chatting about their diving experiences, showing pictures and telling tough stories, starting with eg: 'that time, when I was diving the Bahama's, a shark... '. After half an hour, the owner says, hey folks, is that your nice convertible? Yes, we say proudly. Well, he says: it is pering. F.... ! .We left it open in fornt of the door. Dr T runs outside, and the sun is shining again already, but our car turned into a aquarium. We arrive in the shopping mall with wet b.tts.

Since we are halfway to Hollywood, we decide to go to the HRC. That HRC turns out to be a Hard Rock hotel AND casino (You should see that Broekske). We feel as we are in Vegas! Just a pity that ... I have a migraine. A veeeeery mild one. All the fault of that sparco.com! Home and bed for me.

Now it is the next morning and of course, my husband has to configure his toy, it came almost naked. He is happily fiddling with it while I talk to you. It is a IBM Thinkpad Z61P (what do you think, Kris???). She IS nice, with a big, very high resolution screen (better then an LCD screen on the TV) and biometrics as one of its security. No, not the eyeballs, just a fingerprint, which is a pain for me, with my long nails. Yes, yes, I may use it too, so in the future I can write my stories where even I want. Now: they still flutter by like butterflies in my head. Stories about the cars in Miami, about the fat b.tts, about convertible drivenng, ...
Too many stories.

So what did we do apart from waiting for a laptop and shopping for the acceseries the last days. Well, we rollerbladed in the Art Deco district!!!! (No kidding Norbert) For hooouuurs. We really felt like 'the business'.

AND: we booked the Jules Verne hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I am sooooo excited.

But this is for in 1 week, we will have to keep busy in the mean time. Since you cannot depart boys from their toys, today will be dedicated to the laptop.I will go to the beach and shopping and hope that the toy will be configured by early evening so we can go rollerblading.

Tomorrow we booked a hotel in Florida City and we will visit the Everglades. The coming week will be the Keys and diving and rollerblading and be lazy. The weather is steady, it rains 20 minutes a day ( only when we leave the convertible open), for the rest sun for 75 percent of the day with temperatures above 30 at noon.

PS
Rollerblading on Miami Beach: I just said that as if it is nothing.
Well, it means a lot to me.
Remember those things you prefer to do before you are 90?
Maybe climbing the Killemandjaro is on yours.
Well, rollerblading on Miami Beach was on my list.
I did it.

And this is thanks to Norbert, my rollerbade teacher way in Belgium. I'd like to thank him for his patience. Believe me, he needed it.
