Where I stayed
Up late for breakfast. Last night we heard some hard downpours and today is very heavy and cloudy. Hels saved two sun beds in a different area of the grounds, looking directly at the huge waves rolling in. Hels read her book while Tony took the notebook back to the room to recharge, and while there started his packing……we seem to have so much stuff despite leaving books and clothes everywhere.
We lay under the clouds for a while and then hid all our valuables under our sun beds and went to swim in the sea. Just as we walked to the area between the red and yellow flags Tony realised that he still had a pocket full of paper money and our hotel key and other papers. It was a nice walk back to our sun beds and then back again to the beach. It was worth it as the waves were huge and every now and again there was a double wave where one hit you and literally 5 seconds the second wave rolled over you….great fun but the undertow was phenomenal
We came back to our room to pack after visiting the Lounge for a cup of tea and saying goodbye to some of the staff we have been meeting most regularly. Sad to say goodbye.
Might be possible to stay awake for England's latest World Cup adventure. Stay awake because it kicks off at 10pm here although if England play as they have been it may be difficult to stay awake during the game! Tony might be alone in the Lounge as there are not many Brits here.
P.S. Tony did watch the game with 10 other people of different nationalities. The only other person who watched the game till the end was a Scot, who seemed to be pleased that England got through to the next round. When England play football, it always reminds us what a great game Rugby Union is.
