Where I stayed
The House of Hogg
Today we sent a text to Hoggy and told him that we had booked out and were ready to be picked up anytime after 10am. We received a reply giving an approximate time of pickup at about 2pm. Things do not change very much!
We read our books, went for a cake and coffee and went to sit in the park with the Saturday newspapers……wonderful.
Hoggy and his youngest son Hamish came to collect us at about 2,30 and we went straight home to sit in the afternoon sun and have a couple of beers. Tony took his shirt off, emptied his shorts pockets and plunged straight into the Jacuzzi with Hamish and Sterre, the girl in the family.
Later in the afternoon we also chatted with Kieran, the eldest son and Lochy, the second eldest son, when they came home from school
In the evening we had BBQ lobster tails and steak, while sitting around an outdoor log fire. Lianne had also made some great dips to go with some lovely bread. We also seemed to empty about 5 bottles of red and white wine as well as a few beers. Chatted about old times for a good couple of hours. In some ways Hoggy is a very changed man and in other ways he appears quite the same lad Tony knew years ago. It was good fun to sit and catch up, and chat about old rugby people and stories.
Late to bed but slept like a butterfly on a daffodil, if that is a saying .....and if it isn't it is now!
