Our last day in Nuku'alofa, but it has been good fun to stay in one place for 9 days and take part in local activities.
Sails Lodge not the cheapest , although we did have their most expensive room at 207 TOP but after 7 nights you get a free night.
Reef Café is set back from the road but only 200 metres from Sails. Nice people who own and run it…worth a visit for atmosphere, friendly staff, great food at reasonable prices…..If you go say Tony and Helen sent you to try the chocolate cake
OUR BLOG
Last day but allowed to keep a room till 4pm at no extra cost by Ese and Sam. Ese doing breakfast this morning as Sam taken youngest son on an overnight camp.
Saturday so market and music are back. Listened from balcony.
We walked around and went to market and Reef café to say all our goodbyes. Usually most people stay 1 or 2 nights so we have got to be quite well known. The rugby shirts have helped as have Helens shorts! ( Hels is reading at the moment so I can get away with this).
Chatted to Sam for an hour before we left. We think he might miss our chats every day about all sorts of topics. Perhaps he has learnt something from us, as we have learnt a lot from him.
Our taxi arrived at 4pm on the dot and Peter was our driver. Penny and Holly already on board. Back to airport with no problems Nice couple of hours with the girls….will see them again in Christchurch when we visit the museum that Holly works in and take photos for Helens oldest brother Andrew of anything interesting.
Girls flew off first then us 20 mins later. Good and short flight. We were an hour late taking off so hour late in Nadi, Fiji. Office where we should report was closed but found a man!! Went off to Smugglers Cove Hostel with another American couple.
Room fantastic and a good shower….badly needed in this heat. Went down at 10pm, can you believe that….for a drink. Found the American couple who invited us to join them. Chatted and drank for an hour or so and to bed. Off tomorrow early and need 06.00 call for our Awesome breakfast…..as we are now on our Awesome Adventures package in the isles of Fiji.

We stayed at Smugglers Cove for a night when we were in Fiji! But we stayed in the Pirates dorm not the posh rooms!! :) x
