We all met up at the corner of rts 82 & 83 at 9 a.m.  Even with a stop, we made it to Marietta in time to have lunch at the Harmar Tavern.  YES, Kevin and Larry had their bologna sandwiches.  They said it was hard to tell which sandwich was better.  The G&R Tavern in Waldo makes their own bologna and it's grilled.  The sandwich at the Harmar had more extras - "the sauce brought out the essence of the bologna"...Miracle Whip.  Sandy and I had hamburgers and I have to say it was one of the best hamburgers I've ever had.  Tonight we're going to eat at Spagna's.  OMG - is their pasta to die for!!!
The ride here was beautiful.  It's hard to believe that the leaves are starting to turn colors.  We passed the area where the tornado had come through.  How sad to see such destruction of trees.  There are definitely times when Mother Nature can be bitchy.
When we left the Cleveland area this morning, we had on our heated equipment - thank goodness as it was quite chilly.  When we reached Strasburg, off came the heated liners and gloves.  We kept on our jackets.  Reaching Marietta we found ourselves in the 80's.  Very pleasant.  That's the reason though we had to pack so heavily.  You already knew I was high maintenance.  I just didn't tell you I wasn't the only one.
Tomorrow we are headed to Wytheville, Va.  It's only about 3 hours from Marietta but with my hips better easy riding than hard!!
