Hey,
So after Chicago i went to Clevland and visited my penpal Vera. I have been emailing her and sendign stuff for about 2 years or so, so it was good to actually meet her. We went around the city of Cleveland once i arrived and saw the bay and Rock n Roll hall of fame, so that was really nice. We went into little Italy which was a lovely area also and i had so yummy Gelato, and then we went to a Japanese Hibatchi restaurant where the chef cooks right in front of you and even throws bits of food for you to catch in your mouth, so that was really good to eat there. The food was really nice, even the steamed rice was good so that shows you what i mean.
I then stayed at Vera's that night which was lovely, her parents were lovely aswell, so it was great to meet people like them too. I really enjoyed it. Then i stayed in a hotel the next day and walked around and took in the city. It was a very quiet place really which was weird but nice, and very clean compared to what i am used to. But Cleveland was very nice.

I went on a 4hr plane trip to Las Vegas which with the time difference was really only 2 hrs because Nevada is behind the East coast in time. So that was good. I had a bit of a cold so i was taking cold and flu tablets but nothing was going to stop me having fun in vegas. I got to the baggage claim and mum and nan were there. So it was really good to see familiar faces from back home.
We got our luggage and took a shuttle to the Luxor Casino where we were staying, the Luxor is the pyrimad shaped casino with the sphinx and all outside of it. So we settled in there and relaxed for abit. Then we went into the Casino part and gambled then went down the Strip. We ate dinner, and by then it was dark so everything was all lit up so it was really a sight to see. We walked along the Strip and by the end our feet were killing us, but Vegas was weird because you can't just cross the street you have to go up these stairs and walk over the streets and down to the other side so we couldn't find  taxi, but we made it home and went straight to sleep.
The next day we had to get up early because we were taking a helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon. The company picks you up in a Limo and then you go to the airport from your hotel, so that was nice. We got put in groups for the helicopter ride and me mum and nan were put with a husband and wife and another guy travelling on his own, so we all got into the helicopter wearing lifejackets!! :) and i went in the front cos mum and nan were too scared, with the other lady but it was really fun up there. It took about an hour to fly there, but we passed over the Hoover Dam and other mountain areas, we saw the cliff Thelma and Louise go over in the film, and just saw the desert below. It was really cool. We landed on the Grand Canyon, and below us even though we were already on the floor of it, there was a river further down that we had pictures in front of and stuff so it was really breathtaking to see all of the Canyon around you. Anyone who goes to Vegas must go do a helicopter tour!! It was brillant!
We had lunch there under army style tents that kept the heat out, and just sat in the Grand Canyon for 30 mins. The lunch was more than we expected getting, a roll, cookie and apple and a drink. So it was very nice.
After that we flew back and went over the Strip which was a nice sight. So we really enjoyed it.
We went back to our hotel and rested and then mum and nan went to the Tropicana Casino and gambled while i went to a Titanic exhibit, which was brillant. The Grand staircase, the iceberg, the rooms of each class everything was re-created right in front of you so you felt like you were on the ship. It was awesome, plus they had hundreds of artifacts so that was cool too.
We then just walked along the Strip and went on a Gondala ride and saw the Treasure Island Pirate show, then mum and nan took a taxi back and i went to the Bellagio and saw the fountains there, which was so cool, i really enjoyed that. They had viva las vegas playing to the music and stuff so it was cool.

We had to be up at 5.30am to catch our flight so after i got back, we packed and went to bed exhausted!!

Love to all,

Toni xoxo
