Hey,
So, last Saturday i volunteered to go on the paintball trip. I have never been to paintball before and always wanted to at some point but never got around to it. Plus everyone always said that it hurt so that kinda turned me off it aswell. But since there was a paintball trip i decided i'd like to do it finally.
Paintball in Pennsylvania is really good in the Poconos. The place we went to was called Skirmish USA and they have like 50 different paintball games, all with different things like some of them have themes. So one was a castle theme and you run around a castle shooting each other, or there's like army themed ones and they have army helicopters and all that kinda stuff. So it was very detailed and thats what makes something like this more enjoyable. They have referees that go into the war zone with the two teams and they are really good at keeping the rules in place, cos with kids and guns things can get out of hand. But they held up play in certain areas if it gets too dangerous or un-sportsmanlike.
It was really boiling hot that day too, so we were feeling even hotter because you have to wear these army suits, carry a heavy paintball gun (that had gas pumped into it so the paintballs really fly out hard at the enemy), and have your extra balls in a carry bag around your waist plus we had to wear these goggles (but they were really face masks so don't know why they call them goggles), so it was really hard to breathe. But we all looked really funny, and some of the kids had uniforms that swam on them so it was so cute!
We played the first game, which lasted 10 minutes or so and it really felt like i was in a war. It was scary actually. Cos you have all this equipment and a mask on and enemy around you. But it was fun until i got hit in the chest. So once you get hit you have to walk out holding your gun up but for some reason kids didn't care when i was walking out cos i got pelted with paintballs on my butt and legs and was just screaming STOP IT!!
It hurt so bad. So i have a few bruises but its okay. You have to walk out with some battle wounds right?
Anyway, after being hit in a delicate area that i didn't want to get hit in ever again i sat out with some of the kids who were too scared to play and enjoyed the shade. It was nice because it was so humid. So it was a fun day even though it hurt.
The kids played capture the flag next so it was fun to watch that. Our little kids were playing with and against the big kids so you can understand why they'd be scared but they all had fun so it was a good day. Alot of them were hit in the head or on their masks so everyone got hit in bad places it seemed. I may go again one day but only if they have chest plates cos that really hurt to get there and it really isn't a good area to get hit anyway. But it was really fun so i'm glad i got to do it over here at such a good paintball place.

Well, hope this all made you laugh,

Toni xoxo
