Hey,
So the camp took a trip to the mall last night...not to go shopping but to watch Tennis of all things. There was a real tennis court and stands set up so it was all very professional and they have all the good players playing in a kinda fun tournament so it isn't too serious. A few days ago Venus Williams and John McEnroe played here so that shows how professional it is, but there's like 3 locations they do it, so we were lucky enough to have King of Prussia Mall host it in the carpark area which is only 15 minutes from camp so its really good we got to go.
Anyway we had a few American players that are pros but are only just in the top 100 or rookie types, but we also had Lisa Raymond and Jan-Michael Gambill so that was really awesome, cos i've watched Lisa at the Australian Open before and Gambill on the tv countless times so he is a pretty good player too. I was just glad i knew of a few of the players cos that makes it more exciting so it was really awesome. I'm sure you're jealous mum cos you love anything tennis :)
So, they basically played 5 sets that lasted 2 hours. It wasn't like a normal game so it went quicker that way, but we saw mixed doubles, womens and mens doubles, and womens and mens singles so there was alot to watch, and everyone on the team played so we never got bored with the game. They got points for every game they won, so we were watching the Philadelphia Freedoms and the Boston lobsters so whoever had more points overall won the tournament for that night. It is a really good idea and there were heaps of people there so the atmosphere was just like any Tennis game really, even though it was smaller than i'm used to.
It was just really to see the road behind the stand i was facing and see cars driving past. Normally its dead quiet at the Tennis too so that was different because we had motorbikes whizzing past loudly so it was definitely something different but i really enjoyed it.
They even had a half time like show where Gymnasts who i think are in the Olympic team for USA did all these jumps and trampolines and flips so that was cool to watch aswell. The one thing that was really different was the national anthem was the American one and i can't understand the words anytime they sing it so it was funny to be standing and listening to a song i've no idea what they are talking about. But all part of the American experience i guess so it was good to have a bit of patriotism thrown in there.
Anyway, Boston ended up winning (red team) and everyone enjoyed it so it was a really nice night out. We could relax, they had free stuff and it wasn't too hot a night either, there were a few drops of rain but that was it. So it was just really cool to do while i was a camp.

Hope you enjoy the pictures and hope they give you an idea about how it all was,

Love to all,

Toni xoxo
