The 6 hour bus ride was accompanied by some beautiful views of the Sierras and was very comfortable (travelled with ADO - reclining seats and t.v's showing dubbed American cop films). We arrived with time to explore on Saturday and in the evening found the Zocalo full of people listening to a marimba band (which was nice). I just got a pang of homesickness reminding myself of the fast show. Today did some more exploring and went to a few cultural museums and gardens. Met a chef who invited us to do an all-day cooking course with him including buying the food from the markets (which are famous for being excellent) and after drinks of beer ("Hey you English are my people, I love beer too") and local delicacy Mescal (sort of Tequilla flavoured whiskey!). Took him up on the offer as his restaurant, the "Flor De Loto", was excellent and very reasonably priced.
