Michelle's Dad brought us along to a conference north west of Nanjing. We took a 12 HOUR over night train ride. It wasn't such a difficult ride but the speed train on the way back was cleaner and faster by 8 hours.
There we travelled by bus to nearby attractions including a rock hill/mountain carved of buddahs ordered by the emporer over 1000 years ago; visited Shaolin temple where monks can be found, and children were sent to be trained in martial arts; and a beautiful landscape attraction where we were bussed around because each site was too far to travel to by foot.
