We walked across our final border and couldnt help but feel sad and really hot, it was about 30 degrees. Within an hour we were on a 24hr bus to Rio. I tried the Brazilian saltenas....no where near as good as Bolivia and no fried chicken waiting for us at the side of the road when we stopped just limp ham and cheese sandwiches. My belly missed Bolivia. The bus was horrid but we got into the city and checked into our hostal by 8pm. By 10pm we were sipping cold cocktails with Becky! She had come back out to spend the last 2 weeks with us and it was an utter joy to see her! Like in Thailand within 5 mins of her being there it was like she had never left! Since then we have been enjoying Copacbana Beach....both of us turning interesting shades of red...i mean BROWN in bizarre small patches and enjoying some lovely food and partying. She has made this wind down a whole lot easier, reminding me about friends and family in England who we ll be seeing very soon. Coming back to Rio in a few days so we ll do the sight seeing then...and more partying!
