We were determined to experience New Orleans outside the madness of Mardi Gras. It was certainly different, still that same laid back feel, stores closing at random times and people casually drinking all over the city just not as crazy as the first time.
I went round the French Quarter this time and took some photos, and we later went for some local Cajun cuisine including 'Gumbo', a type of spicy soup with Shrimp, Crab, Chicken and rice. I was a big fan, the whole crab we had on the side was a little bit more difficult to eat. On our way out of Louisianna me and Rob finally got to eat some Aligator, he had the Alligator curry whilst I had something that resembled an Alligator Doughnut.
As soon as we got to Borbon St in the evening, the memories of Mari Gras came back, and whilst the day had been calmer and there was less fancy dress people we're still going crazy.
