We are now at Manteo on Roanoke Island, in the Outer Banks, North Carolina. This is another village on the coast and our Inn overlooks the bay. We are in a new section of the Inn, on the second floor. The drive here wasn't very long, once again through swampy marshes, houses, mobile homes and lots of churches. After we checked in and paid in advance for our three nights (as required by the Innkeeper) we explored the town, which didn't take long as it's a very small town. This is the coldest place we have been, so far. We are now seeing Fall colours, not as spectacular as the ones we saw in New England a few years ago, but driving through them is very pretty.
