It actually started raining on our drive north. So we chose to drive through the Ocala Forest and not stop at Silver Springs, a Nature Theme Park where you can take a glass-bottomed boat trip.
We spent the night at Micanopy, a small town in the middle of Florida where Patty suggested we stop. We booked into the room in the B&B she suggested and had a lovely evening there. As we were tired and hungry we ate at the closest option, Rocky's, a Mexican Italian restaurant, 8 miles away. It was like an old diner and the food was basic but filling and an interesting place to try.
This morning we packed again and moved on, first to visit the Salvador Dali Museum in St Petersburg. Tom was not sure what he was getting into but we were most fortunate to be able to take a guided tour with a guide who explained lots of the symbolism in many of the paintings; so much so that we could actually say we admired some of them (like may still be too strong a word to use).
