Where I stayed
Tom and Michael stopped to talk to Paddy Lynch in Tarbert who had been described as the local historian. He had some information about a John O'Dea but nothing about the Dalys, even though Tom's grandmother (Michael's mother) had been born there. It looks as though her parents moved around a fair bit - which will make for some fun tracing the location of missing birth records for children.
We visited Listowel, a small town with the requisite narrow streets with strip shopping. We went to the Kerry Literary and Cultural Centre which has an interesting exhibit about its famous local authors, none of whom we had heard of.
