Where I stayed
Time to move on again. The weather was better; more sun and less rain. We drove south, off the Ring of Kerry through Ballinskelligs on St Finan's Bay looking for the Skeligs Chocolate factory. We found it two hours before its Sunday opening hours. We drove on, through Waterville with its statue commemorating Charlie Chaplin's visits there and on to Ross Castle at Killarney. We did not climb this castle, mainly owing to the still less than ideal state of the majority's health.
We were in plenty of time for our destination, a B&B at Glin, overlooking the river Shannon so we took a few detours, one forced by a race that had closed the road the GPS told us to take. Finally we reached Tarbert and drove around it (this does not take long) before finally driving to our home for the next two nights. We were pleased to find a quiet, clean, place and settled in for the night, only going out for dinner at the nearest pub - an experience not to be repeated as we were not impressed by the food or service. Not a great couple of days for our intestinal fortitude!
