He says:

With hotspots few and far between in old Blighty I thought I should take every opportunity to add another entry.  So here is a short entry for your enjoyment...

After leaving Oxford yesterday I traveled south to try and find Jenny and Leslie's cottage.  This turned out to be quite an ordeal as it turns out the 'estate' is hidden down a maze of countless (tiny) country lanes.  It ended up taking me hours, and many blank looks for startled country folk, to find Wadwick house (pronounced Wawick if you are landed gentry).  As I didn't arrive until around 4:30pm there was only enough time for a brief tour of the grounds before we headed off to the local (in the next village) for a classic country pub meal.  Wadick house and grounds are fairly grand and Jenny's Thatched cottage is very comfy and beautiful...  On the way to the pub I was taken on a bit of a tour around the area (not that there was much that I missed while I was lost...), which was really good as the place is very genteel (apparently James Blunt is hidden down one of the laneways, smart move as I should think he is pretty safe from being found by papparazzi).  The area is very beautiful, upmarket and full of country estates, plenty of thatched roofs, tiny and intact villages and heaps of pheasants, deer, grouse and rabbits running around waiting to be shot...

It was really good catching up with Jen and Leslie and  they both look very at home (if a tad overworked) looking after Mr and Mrs A.  After a very pleasent evening I woke up early this morning to catch them before they started for the day and after getting lost again trying to get out of the maze I went back to Oxford for a proper explore.  Oxford is really impressive and grand but after looking around for a couple of hours I have deciced that I prefer Cambridge as it seems more accessible, quieter and less over the top (it's still pretty over the top...).  Anyway, after Oxford I decided to head back to Leicester a different way then I went down, so I have followed back roads through the Cotswold's, visiting Burton-on-Water and I am currently in another little village having lunch at a cafe with wireless.  After I leave here I am going to an old Roman villa that is just up the road and then back to Leicester in time to meet Gaynor (easier said then done with no mobiles or arrangements for a tie and place)...

Hope everyone is having a good ANZAC day, I am hoping to find a two-up game somewhere in Lesceter tonight...

Lost!
But such pretty lanes to be lost in... I had googled Wadwick House and found a photo and a map (which may have made it easier - or then again maybe not) but no photo of the barn/cottage and no mention of James Blunt either. Hope the Roman villa was easier to find and that you have found Gaynor by now too.
