He says:

Hi all, just a quicky to say we made it to old blighty safe and sound after another marathon couple of flights (transited through Zurich, incredible airport!).  For anyone that's interested Swiss Air is great, comfortable seats, huge legroom and swiss chocolate for Gaynor...  Arrived in London City Airport on Friday morning and got a great view of central London from the air, which was cool.  Immediately picked up our rental car and somehow managed to dodge the purple fairies riding dragons (I was kinda beyond tired) on the way to Leicster, which we did via Cambridge, numerous service centres and 7 red bulls...  Anyway all's well that ends well and we got here safe and sound and have done bugger all since,  Partly due to tiredness and partly due to the arctic weather, so not much to report on.

The weather is unbelievably cold, standing outside for more then 3 seconds takes an amount of willpower that is beyond me.  I am almost wishing for Manhattan weather again...  Almost...  Gaynor's relatives are very nice, Cambridge was very old and charming and the country side around Leicster is unbelivably English.  Today we plan on actually doing something so are planning on seeing a castle, a couple of English parks and having a pub dinner.  All a big change of pace from NYC but should be good non the less if I don't catch hypothermia...

I am on dial-up so can't upload any photos, but will do so when the opportunity comes up...

Hope all is well and look forward to hearing from you all.

Welcome to UK
I was chatting to Jen this afternoon who is really looking forward to seeing you some time soon. She's living in a three bedroom, thatched cottage and says it's all very beautiful and very, very beautiful. Her address is 'The Barn', Wadwick House, Wadwick, nr Andover, Hampshire, SP116ET. Phone: 01264738108. Andover is where there is a falconry centre that you can visit and learn to fly falcons and hawks - that would be so fantastic!!
Hope the weather warms up soon and that you manage to thaw yourselves. Did you manage to see much of Cambridge? Had the daffodils come out along the Cam yet?
Anyway, all love from here
