The trip down from Nordcap took most of the day and I got into Oslo with enough time to shower and have a quick beer with my room mate. The beer is really expensive. Works out to 5 pounds for half a litre. Good thing I've only had one night out in Norway.

The next day I headed off to see the sights. I found the general feel of Oslo a bit non-descript. The architecture was a complete mix and the city just didn't seem to have a character - just another city. But it had some cool museums: The Vicking Ship museum which houses 3 viking boats recovered from some burial mounds, The Fram museum which has houses the Fram artic boat which has travelled further north and south than any other boast and was used in Admunsens successful first attempt on the South Pole.

Next I headed to a park which had the sculptures of a famous Norwegian artist called Gustav Vigeland. This guy is amazing. All nude sculptures of people capturing a whole range of emotion and human behavior - A lot of it really edgy! An absolute must if you come to Oslo!

1 day was pretty much all I needed for Oslo, so I checked out of the hostel early and headed to Bergen on the West coast.
