After the ferry to Samos, I met John and Leah - a young Aussie couple who were travelling around the Greek islands as well. With them was Mike, travelling alone and Brit and Pete. They were headed to Santorini and I was heading to Naxos, but the only boat was going to Mykinos, so Mykinos it was!

We got into the port at 11pm where there was a whole crowd of people hawking accomodation. After some haggling we settled on a big bloke in a very bright pair of pants called Bobby He was the owner of "Bobby's rooms in town". The only truth to that name was that it was Bobby's as it took a good 30 minutes to walk into town.

So we moved the next day to an beautiful little villa right in the middle of town called Maria's for exactly the same price (thanks to the shrewd negotiating skills of Brit) and spent the next 2 nights there. Mykinos was great. Good beach (except for the shaved dude sunbaking naked - nobody wants to see that), Beautiful maze-like village with the houses just like you imagine them on a greek island, and an enthusiastic (if a little quiet due to it being early season) night life. We spent the days swimming and exploring and the night partying. Getting back home after going out took me 1 hour both nights due to me getting completely lost in the maze of the village.

I met a whole bunch of people from all over, put some great moves on the dance floor (and even some on the pole dancing set-up). With sadness, I left Mykinos and headed with the others to Santorini where I planned to spend 4 nights before heading to Athens.
