So we're now in a house but none of us have jobs, eeek. Thankfully Tom and I both scored jobs at Treble Cone but that didn't start until 14th June so there was a lot of thumb twiddling to be done in the mean time.

Tom did a bit more grape work and I did a cleaning job in a motel for a couple of weeks. It was a pretty dull few weeks until the season began...

June 14th arrived at last and we started our training week...team building games, paperwork and general excitedness!

Treble Cone opened on June 24th and Tom and I both had the day off so we skiied for the day! I had bought some skis in Queenstown a few weeks prior and Sam had sorted Tom out with a board through his buddies at Snowpark. I was pleasantly surprised with the terrain and even had a little tear as I saw the awesome view for the first time and remebered that I was skiing for free, one of the perks of working for a ski field.

Since opening day we've both lead a fairly hectic social life. So far I've dressed up as a sheep a snail, baby from dirty dancing and I need to think of a final costume for closing day. Tom's been a pighunter, a surfer and more recently Geri from the Spice girls (see pics) URGH!! Costumes courtesy of Wanaka Wastebusters, we love that place!!

We've met an awesome bunch of people and skiied and boarded as much as we can. I had ski lessons for 15 bucks which were awesome fun. As well as skiing at TC we've also had a go at Cardrona and Ohau and Tom's been to Coronet Peak and the Remarkables in Queenstown.

So that we don't forget...Tickets team 2010 Pat, Anna, Emma, Emma, Gill, Katie, Carmella, Sarah, Steve, Shell, Nix and the best bunch Drew, Garrett, Alix, Selene, Nikita, Claire, Lenny and me! Toms lifty crew... Marky Mark, Steve, Steve, George UH, Mike, Vicke, Georgia, Pip and Kaitlyn.

We've also done a bit of climbing and a few local walks, Rob Roy glacier being the best. I also had my birthday here and Tom very kindly arranged for me to be buried in a snow hole and dug out 10 minutes later by a very enthusiastic avalanche dog...phew I lived to see 26!

Other random things to remember...jug nights at Mint bar and McGregors, fishpie at Finchy's, the one and only New World where we shopped and spent the best part of our wages pretty much every other day, HQ for after work jugs and as I mentioned before good ol Wastebusters, the only place we could go to buy second hand clothes as Wanaka is so bloody expensive!

Unfortuantely we only have one more week of work at TC left as TC closes on the 3rd. October 3rd is also the day that we left the UK a whole year ago to begin our travels. We've had an epic adventure so far and hope to continue to do so...

Future plans...leave Wanaka second week of October to travel around the south island, first stop the Catlins. We'll keep travelling in little red until some special people arrive in Christchurch on November 20th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and after that who knows, maybe a little trip over to Aus for another australasian adventure...
