Yaz says:

The long journey from Koh Tao to Bangkok which required a boat, bus and sleeper train ran smoothly and got us back at 5am. We spent the next two days in Bangkok shopping at Chatuchak Weekend Market (one of the biggest markets in the world), all 26 acres of it! Seriously, we shopped our butts off. Tomo had been looking forward to it since his first visit almost four months ago. We got clocks, clothes, books, lights, jewellery etc We were both like mad men haggling for the best deals in the tiny narrow alleyways of the market. The pets section was pretty good too and we almost came away with a Pomeranian terrier and a guinea pig. It's probably a good thing we didn't as I think I would have been evicted from the Gant family for having such an embarrassing dog! He was SO fluffy though!

Shopping aside we also made time for some culture and took the train over to Ayutthaya for a few days to see the ruined temples. They are similar to the ones in Bagan but on a smaller scale and we were able to see them all on foot. Managed to see some pretty sweet electrical storm action too!

Tomo's been winding down over the last week, getting ready to go back to God's own county. I've caught him singing Home by Michael Buble to himself on more than one occasion. He's well and truly ready for his bowl of Frosties and cup of Yorkshire tea, so much so that he had bought him self a Frosties t-shirt for the journey home. You can take the boy out of Yorkshire but you can't take Yorkshire out of the boy.

So it's past midnight and the time has come. Time to get on our final plane that will take us home. After a day of shopping in MBK and our 'last supper' in the Hard Rock Cafe we've caught the airport city link to the airport. All we have to do now is try an catch some ZZZZ before our flight in 6 hours.

In the words of Mr Tom Gant, "Yep, this honeymoon's been average. Would have been better with Connor". Let's hope he's joking.
